Checking on your competitors

How often do you browse your competitors Social Media pages? We are willing to make a bold statement here – we bet that the majority of you aren’t aware what your competitors latest post was, or in fact a post from last week, or how many people it engaged.

Did you know that by browsing your competitors Social Media pages you are able to get a whole wealth of information?

You are able to:

  • View what is being posted
  • See which posts are getting the most interest
  • See how many followers/new followers they have
  • See what questions are being asked
  • See their reviews

This will then give you an idea on the kind of posts which are currently attracting attention within your line of business, see what potential customers are asking and in the case that they aren’t regularly posting to their page – you will have the edge on reaching people, so up your game – perhaps consider putting out a paid FB ad targeting potential customers?

You may also find that you are all posting the same things – in which case, dare to be different! If you know this fact, use it as an opportunity to stand out.

Perhaps a competitor has had a recent string of poor reviews or comments? Use this to your advantage – take note if there is a pattern and if so, this could be a good selling point. For example, a business has had a few comments about their timekeeping – this would be a perfect opportunity for you to design a post which details within it that you turn up when you say you will.
